Free recording and editing. One-time upgrade for AI tools.
Goodtake Pro unlocks Autopilot, the editing Assistant, dubbing and voice changes. Pro is a one-time purchase; the AI service you connect charges separately for what you use.

Goodtake is in beta: everything in Pro is free to use until Pro goes on sale, and people in the beta will get a discount when it does. AI services bill you directly for what you use; what a video costs depends on the service and its length. Your Mac's own voices are free.
Questions
Is the free app really free?
Yes: recording, editing, Polish, captions, characters and export, for personal use or work, with no watermark, no account and no time limit. Pro is only for the AI features.
What's the Pro beta?
Until Goodtake Pro goes on sale, everything in it is free to use: no key, no card and no account. When it goes on sale, the app tells you, thanks you, and offers people in the beta a discount. You can also try Pro for 7 days from then, with no card.
Why do I need my own AI account?
So Pro can be bought once instead of being a subscription. Goodtake doesn't run AI servers: the scripts and voices come from an AI service you connect, and it bills you only for what you use. The easiest is OpenRouter: press Connect OpenRouter in Goodtake's settings, sign in and add some credit, and it covers both scripts and voices. OpenRouter shows what each request cost, so you can see what your videos take.
I already pay for Claude or ChatGPT. Can I use that?
Yes. If you have Claude Code or Codex installed, Goodtake writes the scripts with them on your subscription. For voices, use a Gemini or ElevenLabs key, OpenRouter, or your Mac's own voices for free.
Where do my keys go?
Your keys stay in your Mac's Keychain and go straight to those services, never through us. Your video files stay on your Mac. A Pro tool sends the service you chose only what its task needs: the brief and pages for a script, the lines for a voice, and for the Assistant your request, the transcript and the frames it checks.
Do updates cost extra?
Updates to the version you bought are included. Your Pro key is checked on your Mac and never expires.
